This past Saturday was December 8th- the day in my mind that I was going to wait to start thinking about coming home. Why December 8th? Well, it was the day that the faithful one flew back from Africa- it seems as though the cohortians are dropping like flies from the developing countries of their choices.
And now I sit a little less than two weeks away from flying back to Canada just in time to drink some eggnog and sing Silent Night while holding a candle (*incidentally my favorite Christmas hymn is ‘O Come, O Come Emannuel’). The next few days should go by fast with a trip to Cairo in the works as well as day trips to Jerusalem, Bethlehem and hopefully Galilee.
The last couple of weeks has seen a significant decrease in the amount of time spent teaching english and a significant increase in making fun of Norwegians. The elementary schools are into their exams now so we’re about done there and the university english classes have given way to paper and exam season. I do spend about five hours a day at the student centre hanging out and becoming a world class foosball player- although to be honest there are players here who i think could compete in the world foosball championships (if there is such a thing). It’s my goal to beat the centre’s director Ahmad before I go- my record thus far is 0-27- which also nearly matches my fantasy sports record this year. awesome.
For the record I have no idea what I’m going to do when I get back but am looking forward to spending time with family, friends and a trip to Philly for a week or two. I’ll consider growing up after that.

not one or two….the correct answer is TWO. We want you for two weeks (or as close to it as possible). NYC, Baltimore, and DC…here we come. Not to mention Philly, West Chester, Lancaster, and a few others. So much to do and even more to say!!!! Miss you!
